Albion Women returned to league action with an important 2-0 victory at home to Boldmere St Michaels on Wednesday night.
Among a number of changes, Head Coach Jenny Sugarman brought in youngster Lucy Pugh from the Development Team for her first league start.
And the Baggies established an early advantage just two minutes into the game. Jess Davies played a through ball down the left-hand side to Delphi Cole, who beat the offside trap and knocked it past the goalkeeper to claim her maiden goal in Albion colours.
They continued to press over the next 15 minutes as Cole and Shannon Stamps both went close. However, the visitors did begin to threaten and had a flurry of chances in the latter stages of the first half.
But Albion held firm and instead extended their advantage before half-time, Stamps showing great trickery down the right-hand side to work her way into the box and win a penalty, and captain Hannah George making no mistake from 12-yards.
There were few chances in the second period, though it was Albion who looked more likely to add to their tally. Abi Loydon and Davies both threatened at the near post, yet were unable to find the net - with Albion comfortably holding on to a two-goal victory come full-time.
