Head coach reflects on three goal defeat
TONY Pulis was full of praise for Jonathan Leko following his full Premier League debut.
The 17-year-old produced a dazzling display, particularly in the first-half.
Speaking about Leko, Pulis said:
Jonathan was fantastic. He's a bit similar to Bolasie at Palace, he has raw pace and talent. He can be a great player but he needs to learn.
Back in my day, you got taught by senior pros. That's what these lads need.
We've had three with us: Sam (Field), Tyler (Roberts) and Jon...and they've got better and better.
What he needs to do now is keep his feet on the ground.
Albion lost 3-0 to West Ham - a scoreline that didn't reflect their early dominance in Pulis' view.
We didn't get the breaks. We needed a break and how Antonio cleared Gardner's shot off the line I don't know. The break that we deserved just wasn't there.
Their first two goals owed a little to good fortune - once you give a team like West Ham those goals, with the players they have, then they punish you.
We have had plenty of chances - again, at home - but not put them away.
