Albion eased to a comfortable 2-0 win against Bristol City at The Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.
Mikey Johnston’s delightful double secured all three Sky Bet Championship points in what was an impressive performance from front to back.
The result extends the Baggies’ unbeaten home run to seven games and lifts them up to seventh ahead of Christmas.
Carlos Corberán made three changes, bringing in Alex Mowatt, John Swift and Johnston to his starting XI.
Blustery, rainy conditions played their part throughout the first half, but Albion did create early chances via Swift - who saw a swerving long-ranger saved - as well as Torbjorn Heggem’s blocked shot and Jayson Molumby’s dragged effort.
Kyle Bartley also headed over before the opener arrived just after the half-hour mark, Tom Fellows’ excellent cross finding Johnston to head home his maiden goal since re-joining.
And the winger netted again on the verge of the interval, this time finishing off a good, flowing move with a trademark strike - cutting inside and firing into the top corner.
Following the break, Palmer soon had to stop Fally Mayulu’s attempt from the edge of the box - yet it was mainly the hosts searching for another throughout the second period.
Johnston couldn’t quite grab his hat-trick despite a few opportunities, while Fellows, Maja and substitute Racic were all denied by a combination of good defending and goalkeeping during an Albion onslaught. Devante Cole nearly scored late on, too.
Though the deserved third ultimately did not come, the victory did - ensuring the Baggies delivered festive cheer to the near-26,000 strong Hawthorns crowd.
