Albion Women secured a resounding 4-0 Hawthorns victory in their FA WNL Northern Premier Division against with Sporting Khalsa on Sunday afternoon.

Phoebe Warner scored in her second consecutive match in B71, while Simran Jhamat shortly followed up with a first-half strike after being played through on goal.

Goals from Marli Rhodes-Andrews and Hannah George then put the icing on a comfortable victory for the Baggies in front of a buoyant crowd.

Albion Women are next in action at the Valley Stadium where they’ll host Rugby Borough on Sunday, September 15.

Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made two changes to the side that lost narrowly at Derby County last week. Seren Watkins replaced Fran Orthodoxou in midfield for her first Baggies start and Rhodes-Andrews was preferred in the forward line.

The hosts made an excellent start to proceedings and deservedly went ahead, as Ash Brown beat two defenders on the touchline before squaring to Warner - who was greeted with an empty net.

And Albion soon doubled their advantage. This time Rhodes-Andrews turned creator as she slipped Simran Jhamat into acres of space, leaving her the simple task of stroking past onrushing Khalsa goalkeeper, Elise Stocking.

Hodgetts-Still’s side continued to turn the screw without netting again, notably skipper George meeting Liv Rabjohn’s low cross but not quite rearranging her feet in time to divert the ball goalwards.

Already two-up, Albion wasted no time adding to their advantage after the break. Rhodes-Andrews nicked the ball in between two Khalsa defenders and rounded the goalkeeper for their third.

And skipper George was keen to make amends for her earlier miss to put the result beyond doubt in some style. She struck a free-kick from 25 yards out which was too powerful for Stocking to get a hand to – rounding off a perfect afternoon for the Albion.
