Albion were knocked out of the FA Cup after a 5-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Caleb Taylor’s early opener threatened an upset in the round three tie, but the Premier League side hit back via Justin Kluivert, Dango Ouattara (2), Antoine Semenyo and Dan Jebbison.

The Baggies return to Sky Bet Championship action next weekend when they host Stoke City.

Chris Brunt and the interim coaching staff made seven switches from the league draw against Swansea, including giving a start to Taylor following his loan recall.

And it was the young academy graduate who grabbed Albion the lead inside 15 minutes. Grady Diangana’s initial header bounced off the crossbar, leaving Taylor an opportunity to nod home his first Baggies goal.

However, Bournemouth found an equaliser before the half-hour mark - David Brooks’ dangerous cross reaching Kluivert, and the attacker making no mistake.

They then went ahead through Ouattara’s low, near-post strike, with the Cherries’ No.11 netting again during first-half stoppage time at the end of a quick counter-attack.

Bournemouth - currently sat seventh in the top flight - further extended their advantage only minutes into the second period thanks to substitute Semenyo’s powerful effort.

While Jed Wallace saw a shot saved as the Baggies did try and get another towards the final stages, ultimately the Cherries saw it out comfortably - Jebbison even adding a fifth in stoppage time.
