Carlos Corberán says Albion are determined to send the club's supporters home with a gift of three Sky Bet Championship points on Sunday afternoon.

The Baggies go to battle with Bristol City in B71 three days before Christmas – the first of four fixtures over the festive period.

Corberán says his side are always focused on achieving victories regardless of the time of year, but admits securing a triumph over the Robins would be the perfect early present.

The boss said: “We always want to gift our fans the feeling of three points. We want to do this for every game, not just because Sunday’s match is the last one before Christmas and the last one at The Hawthorns this year.

“We don’t always achieve the win that we want, but we always try our best.

“Our fans always enjoy watching us and helping us secure wins, but I know this is a special time of year and we know a win for Christmas would mean a lot to a lot of our people who give up time with their family and friends to come and back us.

“We are pleased that we are scoring more goals at home now, but we have also started conceding more goals. We want to increase specific areas of our game without other areas decreasing. We need to find the balance.

“That’s a target of ours, but that’s not always easy to achieve.

“We want to try and control games, and finding the right balance all over the pitch in a number of different scenarios will give us a better chance of doing that.

“Hopefully we can find the correct ways to control this specific game on Sunday, one game which is very challenging, and go on to take all three points.”
