After making his 150th Albion appearance in the club's last home game, it would be rude not to have spoken to Conor Townsend for Wednesday night's edition of Albion News.
The latest instalment for the Blackburn Rovers game sees the left-back, who reached his latest landmark during the 1-0 win over Coventry City, speak fondly about his Baggies career since joining the club in 2018.
Conor's feature provides many a story about his grounding at Hull City, and while many youngsters were dreaming of the future, hard work was the mantra for Hessle-born Townsend - a mentality which reaped rewards for the defender later on in his career.
While having to join Grimsby Town on loan to gain senior exposure may not seem the ideal first step into the men's game, Conor hails it as one of the career catalysts which started to shape his career in a positive direction.
Leaving Hull City, the club he'd been at since the age of eight, was another of the big moments which Townsend looks back on as a defining one during his early 20s, citing it giving him the necessary incentive to push on up the divisions.
Albion's FA Cup clash with non-league Chesterfield was an example of Conor's early steps going "full circle" as he described it, meeting Paul Cook again having spent time with him on loan at the Spireites during his time as a Tigers player.
But the longest stay of the City academy graduate's senior playing days has been at The Hawthorns, and Townsend says he has "no intention" of going anywhere as he dissects the turning points during his Baggies career, remaining patient while learning from Kieran Gibbs at the beginning, and making his dream Premier League bow against Chelsea - as well as the scenes after his Luton Town winner!
