Albion Women bowed out of the FAWNL Cup at the last-16 stage at the hands of Middlesbrough on Sunday.
The Baggies had opportunities of their own but were unfortunately downed by a Lauren Robson strike midway through the first half.
Albion will look to get back to winning ways with a trip to Stoke City next weekend in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division.
Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made three changes to the previous XI, Seren Watkins, Simran Jhamat, and Mariam Mahmood were all reinstated into the starting line-up.
The Baggies started the brighter of the two sides and Mahmood was keen to repay the faith shown by the boss – cracking against the post after some energetic high-pressing.
Despite their early dominance, Albion were made to pay for a defensive lapse in concentration from which Boro took full advantage. Robson fired high above Anna Miller to give the hosts the lead.
Phoebe Warner had the opportunity to respond less than five minutes later, but her stretching effort to meet a deep cross looped over the crossbar.
Albion resumed the second period with attacking intent, Ellie May saw a low drive well-saved by home goalkeeper Laura Wareham. Just minutes later she pulled off an even better stop to deny substitute Marli Rhodes-Andrews from scoring with virtually her first touch.
The Baggies continued to turn the screw but to no avail and left Stockton-On-Tees without passage into the last eight of the competition.
