Albion Under-18s were denied a second straight league triumph following Norwich City's fightback at their Walsall HQ on Saturday afternoon.

Central midfielder Matt Crowther netted the game's opening goal to hand Leigh Downing's team the lead at the interval, linking up with Adam Letlat to slot the ball into the bottom corner on 38 minutes.

And even though the Canaries responded at the start of the second period through Foden Northover, Crowther struck again to help the Baggies create some daylight between them and their opponents.

Firstly, though, Rio Parmar would add to his tally for the campaign within three minutes of the visitors' leveller - curling in from the edge of the box - before the match's first goalscorer fired into the same side for his brace to extend the hosts' lead further heading into the last 20.

Sadly, City's fightback proved too strong for the young Baggies, who were unable to hold onto their advantage as Damari Daley and Finn Corke scored two quick-fire goals over the space of three minutes to restore parity and put things in the balance during the dying embers.

Still, neither side could find their fourth, meaning the points were shared at the West Bromwich Albion Training Ground.

Albion: Brady (GK), Maughan, Morrish, Letlat (Abudu 88), Crowther, Blackshields, Trialist (McNeil 60), Parmar, Onyemachi (Sears 81), Okorodudu (Cherchi 88).

Substitutes: Wilkes (GK).
