Albion progressed to the third round of the Birmingham Senior Cup following a 4-2 victory over Stratford Town at the Arden Garages Stadium on Tuesday night.
Richard Beale's men raced into an early first-half lead courtesy of Harry Whitwell, who linked up with Alex Williams before rounding the home goalkeeper to place the ball into an empty net, and Eseosa Sule did the exact same thing after sprinting clear of the defence to work himself a simple finish for 2-0.
Dan Lafferty halved the deficit midway through the first 45, but that two-goal cushion was soon restored when the Baggies' Glaswegian striker netted his second of the match - meeting Reece Hall's long pass forward and unleashing an impressive, unstoppable strike into the opposite top corner for 3-1.
But Town ensured they'd only go in one goal behind at the interval when former Albion academy graduate Tom Solanke curled a quality left-footed effort past Joe Wallis in the away net.
The second half never matched up to the first in terms of goals, and Beale's men had to remain patient and resolute to seal their progression in the Senior Cup - which came in the final 10 minutes of proceedings when they notched their fourth of the evening.
Substitute Akeel Higgins controlled Adriel Walker's pass into feet, curled a smart finish into the bottom corner for 4-2, and confirmed Albion's youngsters a spot in round three against Racing Club Warwick. Details on the tie will be confirmed at the earliest possible opportunity.
