A talented full-back, Alfie will hope his ability can carry him to the next stage of his career at The Hawthorns. 

Maughan has been in the Baggies' youth system right from the off, first signing terms with the club at U8s. 

Alfie's capabilities with both feet make him a useful player for the future, with the versatile defender able to cover numerous positions, as well as deliver set plays using his left or right foot depending on which side he's asked to provide from.

While still in the U16s, the full-back played a large part of the 2023/24 term in Leigh Downing's scholarship group. But now a full-time member of the 18s, Maughan will hope to continue impressing from deliveries and using his work rate down the right flank, which has already seen him chip in with plenty of assists during the 2024/25 campaign.
