A YOUNG Albion XI suffered a 1-0 defeat at Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Tamworth in their second pre-season friendly.
Lloyd Kerry’s 44th-minute effort was enough to clinch victory for the hosts at The Lamb Ground in front of a crowd of 1,003.
Baggies reserve/development coach David Oldfield said: “First half we did well and we knocked the ball round positively.
“We struggled during the second half and we forgot to do all the things that brought us some joy in the first period.
“We had good possession at times but we couldn’t seem to find the end product.
“We were a little naïve at times in terms of what we were doing, but we’ve got plenty going for us, and we’re a young group.
“The positives we can take from the first half were undone in the second but we’ll learn from it and we’ll go on."
He added: “They were a difficult challenge for us and we were out there with young players and some schoolboys.
“We have high expectations as a group and we need to make sure we fulfil our potential.”
