Boss praises winger after rare start against Arsenal
STEVE Clarke has praised Jerome Thomas for his performance against Arsenal on Saturday in what has been a stop-start season at The Hawthorns for him.
After an injury-plagued opening three months to the campaign the Baggies winger spent a successful six-week loan spell at Championship outfit Leeds up until the New Year.
And the Hawthorns clash against his former club was only his fourth Barclays Premier League start for the Baggies this term.
“I’ve got a good squad so when I make changes the ones that come in do well,” said Clarke.
“It was good to see Jerome.
“He hasn’t had much time for me this year and it was good to see him on the pitch.
“He gives us something different.
“He can go past a man and I thought his start to the game was really good.
“In the first half we didn’t get the ball to him enough.”
