'He's a player I trust in and he's performing very well' - Mel
GRAHAM Dorrans can play a key role for Albion between now and the end of the season, according to head coach Pepe Mel.
The midfielder found the net and walked away with the man of the match award in Saturday’s frustrating draw at home to Cardiff.
It was Dorrans’ first goal in a year for the club in what was his third successive Barclays Premier League start – the first time the Scot has registered such a feat since the back end of last season.
And Mel is adamant he can be crucial in Albion’s battle to retain their top-flight status over the remaining seven matches of the campaign.
“He is a magnificent footballer,” Mel said.
“He's extremely committed to the cause and his performances are getting increasingly better.
“He could be a key player for us.
“Cardiff was the third game that he's played. He played at Swansea, Hull and barring anything going wrong he will play at Norwich.
“He's a player I trust in and he's performing very well.”
