Around £2,000 raised for 'African Adventure'
A SOLD-OUT crowd of over 200 people attended the inaugural Albion Foundation Charity Race Night on Friday.
It was the first event of its kind for the Foundation and judging by the enjoyment - and anguish - depending on the luck experienced by everyone attending, it won’t be the last!
The night was held in the Richardson Suite of The Hawthorns Stadium, with proceeds from the night going to the Foundation’s first ‘African Adventure’.
In May, a group of 21 Foundation staff members and club supporters will travel to Kenyan village, Nakuru, to take part in eight days of voluntary community work and sports coaching.
To enable each member to travel, they were tasked with raising £2,000 each.
The race night is just one of several events organised by the Foundation to help in achieving this total.
Jon Ross, Business Development Manager for The Albion Foundation said: “It was fantastic to see a sell-out crowd join us for our first and certainly not our last, charity race night.
“It was amazing to see everyone cheering on their horses on the edge of their seats.
“The proceeds from the night will make a huge difference to our total fundraising efforts.
“The total amount raised throughout the night was approximately £2,000. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported The Albion Foundation.”
