Defender buzzing after vital win
GARETH McAuley joked he will happily foot the bill for a new laptop after Albion came away from Norwich with all three points courtesy of a 1-0 triumph.
The centre-back cleared the ball from a Canaries attack from the edge of his own penalty area midway through the first half at Carrow Road.
But instead of hitting row Z, McAuley inadvertently found the press box and smashed the laptop on which a member of Albion's media team was working.
The screen stood little chance against the hefty hoof and it was instantly the end of a long and distinguished career for what was a highly regarded and valued part of the media department.
The laptop has been forced to hang up his keyboard for good, however McAuley is happy to replace it, especially after seeing Morgan Amalfitano's fine strike claim a vital victory on a memorable day in Norfolk.
"To be fair, to hit a laptop from there is a pretty good shot," joked the Northern Ireland international.
"I suppose I'll be getting charged for this will I? That's alright.
"Three points today, though, and I'll gladly buy a new one."
