Old Trafford hero looks ahead to reverse fixture with United
SAIDO Berahino believes his Old Trafford winner earlier this season gave him a solid Barclays Premier League platform to build on this term - but is refusing to dwell on past glories.
The England Under-21 international bagged the decisive goal against the current champions after Wayne Rooney had cancelled out Morgan Amalfitano’s opener.
But - although it is a moment in his career he will never forget – he insists his focus is fully on the 17th-placed Baggies’ bid to secure three points against United on Saturday (ko 12.45pm) in their Barclays Premier League survival fight.
“It’s the goal that gave me the platform in the Premier League and is allowing me to get as many games as I’m getting in the Premier League now,” said Berahino.
“The boys know the tough games we’ve got ahead of us.
“That victory was put behind us a long time ago.
“We’ve got 11 games left and we’re all staying together as a unit under Pepe Mel and supporting him fully.
“We’ve got to ensure we finish the job well.”
