“We’re a very tight-knit group and we’re really enjoying this spell”
MATT Phillips says an upturn in confidence is the reason behind Albion’s recent form.
Tony Pulis’ men have won four of their six Premier League fixtures since the 25-year-old returned to the starting XI at Leicester City on November 6.
The winger has scored three and assisted four of Albion’s 13 goals during that period, with the Baggies now seventh in the table, and only four points behind today’s visitors Manchester United.
And Phillips admits confidence has also played a big part in his own run of impressive performances.
“I’m very much a confidence player and when things are going well that’s when I come into my own and start producing good performances,” said Phillips.
“When you first come to a club you want to settle quickly and hit the ground running.
“Now things are really starting to come together for me personally and, thankfully, for the team as well.
“We’re full of confidence, especially at home.
“We’ll look to play our game and we try not to worry too much about the opposition.
“We’ve got some top players here, you go through the team and we’ve got quality all the way through it.
“That’s really starting to show.”
“We have been in good form so it paves the way for a really good game.
“Nothing ever comes down to one, two or three players - especially here - it’s about the team.
“From the very first game the group have worked hard.
“We’re a very tight-knit group and we’re really enjoying this spell.”
