JAMES Morrison grabbed a last-gasp equaliser to keep alive Albion’s FA Cup hopes in the face of a stirring challenge from Bristol City.

The Championship outfit came from behind to move within seconds of a shock victory as they led 2-1 deep into four added minutes.

But one last thrust by Albion saw Jonny Evans head a Callum McManaman cross back into the area for Morrison to volley home from close range.

It was a dramatic conclusion to the type of tie which gives the famous old competition its reputation.

Albion looked to be on course for the third round when Saido Berahino – part of a triple substitution from head coach Tony Pulis after an hour – gave them a 67th-minute lead with a slide-rule finish from fellow sub McManaman’s service.

But having looked in control of the game, the tie turned against them with two goals from the visitors in 10 minutes. 

Jonathan Kodjia headed home from a 74th-minute free-kick before Kieran Agard sent 5,300 visiting fans crazy nine minutes later by striking immediately after entering the fray as a substitute.

It all looked up for a shocked Albion in front of a near 25,000 crowd. But they kept their composure to level in the final attack of a match which adds to the club’s busy fixture schedule over the next fortnight.
