MATCH PREVIEW: Albion v Burnley

Everything you need to know ahead of Burnley's visit to The Hawthorns

ALBION's Premier League season continues on Monday as they welcome Burnley to The Hawthorns (ko 8pm).

The opposition

After winning the Championship last year Burnley have made an excellent start to their third Premier League season. One point above the Baggies, Sean Dyche's side are currently ninth in the table.

It's at Turf Moor where they have picked up the majority of their 14 points, with home wins against Liverpool, Watford, Everton and Crystal Palace. But it's a different story on the road; the 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in October remains the Clarets only away point.

Last time out

Albion have met Burnley just twice in the Premier League. The Clarets made their top flight bow in 2009 whilst Albion were in the Championship. And after Roberto Di Matteo's promotion success, the Baggies passed Burnley on the way back to the promised land.

The last meeting between the two sides at The Hawthorns came in September 2014, with the hosts running out 4-0 winners. In the return fixture, Chris Brunt and Brown Ideye were on target as Albion came from 2-0 down to snatch a 2-2 draw.

SCORES ON THE DAWS: Craig Dawson heads his first Albion goal against Burnley in 2014

Team News

Albion's international contingent have returned fit and well from their respective excursions this week. Nacer Chadli continues with his rehab and recovery in the hope that he will be in contention, with Salomon Rondon still recovering from a hamstring strain.

There's a clean bill of health and no suspensions for the Clarets.

Stats

Craig Dawson is in line for his 100th Premier League appearance for the Baggies. And there's a similar milestone for Burnley and England 'keeper Tom Heaton, who could make his 50th PL appearance for the Clarets.

Heaton has made the most saves in the league this season (60), with Ben Foster third in the rankings (37).

From the archive

The Hawthorns was bouncing in that 4-0 win two seasons ago, with some cracking goals to boot. Dawson, Dorrans and a Berahino double gave the Baggies a storming victory.

Head to head

Albion have won just under half of their games against Burnley, with 54 victories in 127 games. An 8-1 win in 1967 was the pick of the bunch.
