Academy graduate impressed against City
ALBION midfielder James Morrison believes Jonathan Leko can be an important player for the club, but has encouraged the youngster to keep working hard at his game.
The winger, who came off the bench at the same time as Morrison against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, delivered an eye-catching display down the right for the Baggies.
Leko enjoyed the challenge of facing City’s experienced left-back Aleksandar Kolarov, with the 17-year-old skipping beyond the tackles of the Serbian international on a number of occasions.
And Morrison insists the future is bright for the academy graduate.
He said: “Jon can be whatever he wants to be if he just tweaks a few things in his game and keeps working hard.
“He is still young.
“I thought he came on and did well although it’s always easier when you are trailing 4-0 and there isn’t much pressure on you.
“He ripped some of the Manchester City defenders and he can certainly be a threat for us the games coming up.
“Hopefully Jon can come into the team and keep performing how he has been.
“It’s an added boost for the club with another youngster coming through.”
