Shan looks ahead to PL2 clash with Brighton

Baggies face the Seagulls at The Hawthorns

JAMES Shan says his group are full of energy ahead of Monday night’s Premier League 2 fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion at The Hawthorns (ko 7pm).

Albion’s youngsters have gone almost two weeks without a game - their last outing coming on Tuesday, August 30 at Millwall in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Despite the 2-0 defeat at The Den, Shan was pleased with the overall performance of his players against an experienced and high-flying League One outfit.

The Baggies boss says the group must try and carry that momentum into the clash against Brighton, but admits the lengthy period without a fixture hasn’t been ideal.

“We are looking to build on the performance against Millwall in the Checkatrade Trophy,” said Shan.

“Ideally we would have liked a game last Monday to keep up the momentum and try to take the positives from that display into the Brighton game.

“The group are definitely full of energy and we will be looking for three points.

“Brighton are a good footballing team who have a very clear way of playing and I expect them to be no different to previous years when we have faced them.

“They will keep the ball and look to make the pitch very big.

“Without the ball they are very organised and difficult to break down so it should be a good test for us.”

Entry is free for season ticket holders, otherwise prices are £5 adults and £1 concessions.

Come on you Baggies!
