Rekeem Harper has expressed his "delight" at signing his first professional contract with Albion - and at heading out on loan to gain more experience.
Rekeem has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at The Hawthorns before joining Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan deal.
And it's safe to say the youngster is absolutely thrilled.
"I'm delighted," he said. "I've been here since I was 12 years old and I've always dreamed of signing a pro deal.
"It's a great feeling."
The contract comes after Harper's Premier League debut against AFC Bournemouth on the opening day of the Premier League season.
And he believes he's developed well over the past 12 months.
"It's crazy!" Rekeem laughed.
"I started with the Under-18 side and went on pre-season with them. Then I was thrown into the Premier League 2 group and did well.
"Before I knew it I was training with the first team.
"I always aim to keep pushing on and it's working for me. I'm going to keep working hard."
Harper joins Rovers 10th in Sky Bet League One with six points from four games. And the 17-year-old midfielder is looking forward to cutting his teeth in "real football".
"The Premier League 2 is a bit slower tempo and it's not overly physical. I want to test myself against stronger players - men," he added.
"I'm looking forward to the pressure of it all and the opportunity to play real football.
"I want to improve technically, tactically and build up some more confidence.
"I want them to know Rekeem Harper."
We wish Rekeem all the best for his season at Ewood Park!
