FRESH after agreeing a contract extension with the Baggies on Friday morning, Tony Pulis conducted his first pre-match press conference of the 2017/18 Premier League season.
Albion prepare to face AFC Bournemouth at The Hawthorns on Saturday (ko 3pm), and Pulis said he's been impressed with the Cherries' business in the summer transfer window.
"They went out and did their business very early on.
"They're a good side. If you look at their squad Eddie's been able to bring in the players he wanted.
"They've not just got a top 11, they've got a top 24. It'll be a tough game."
On the injury front, the gaffer confirmed that he will be without Gareth McAuley and James Morrison for the opening-day fixture.
"Gareth won't be fit for a couple of weeks. He's still struggling with his thigh.
"James won't be available tomorrow but we're hoping he'll be okay for the following week. He's got a little tweak on his knee so we've got to be careful."
And discussing his new contract, Pulis highlighted his delight at getting the deal done.
"It's lovely to get it all sorted out and settled.
"The opportunity of staying a lot longer and working on what we're trying to do is important for me and the football club.
"We've got to push the club on."
