ALBION claimed an impressive point with a display full of spirit and togetherness as they held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield on Wednesday evening.
The Baggies proved more than a match for the Reds in the Premier League encounter, showing resilience and heart aplenty to stiffle the hosts' attacking riches and also provide a threat of their own.
Hal Robson-Kanu went closest when he curled a long-range effort on to the top of the crossbar, while Loris Karius tipped over from Grzegorz Krychowiak and Claudio Yacob and Ahmed Hegazi headed wide when well placed.
Fellow Egypt international Mohamed Salah proved a threat for the hosts and Roberto Firmino shot wide early on, while substitute Dominic Solanke saw a late effort ruled out for handball.
But it is a positive result which will boost Baggies confidence and belief heading into the festive fixture schedule.
Alan Pardew, building on his opening point against Crystal Palace, recalled Krychowiak and James McClean on Merseyside.
The first chance of the encounter went the way of Liverpool in the 17th minute, Firmino shooting across goal and wide from Salah's teasing ball to the far post.
Robson-Kanu sent an effort from distance on to the top of the crossbar in front of the Kop, before Salah almost got on the end of Trent Alexander-Arnold's throughball as it remained all square at the break.
The Baggies enjoyed a sustained spell of pressure at the start of the second half - Karius tipping over from the Krychowiak and fellow midfielder Yacob before Hegazi headed over - with the trio among a string of eye-catching performances throughout the side.
Sadio Mane side-footed off target before Salah headed a good chance wide as the game approached the hour mark.
Jay Rodriguez and Chris Brunt, making his 250th Premier League appearance, were introduced off the bench.
Liverpool, into the last 16 of the Champions League, thought they had won it late on only to see Solanke's effort chalked off before Hegazi then cleared off the line from the sub to secure a point.
