Pardew reacts to Stoke defeat

ALAN Pardew says Albion deserved at least a point from their efforts at the bet365 Stadium after they were beaten by Stoke City on Saturday.

Despite controlling proceedings for the majority of the game the Baggies found themselves on the end of a 3-1 reverse, with Pardew ruing City's second goal in first-half stoppage time.

"To concede on the stroke of half time was a real blow to us. In the first half we didn't deserve to be behind and certainly didn't deserve to be two nil behind," said Alan.

"Our fans responded to that because they were disappointed, not so much in the performance but in the scoreline. We had to go out in the second half and not only show our commitment and desire to get it back but show some quality. And we did.

"On another day, if we'd have got the equaliser, which I thought we deserved, we might have gone on to win it. We were clearly the dominant side from start to finish but a couple of goals we could have avoided have cost us."

Albion have a chance to put things right against Everton in just two days time. And the Baggies boss says his side will need the Albion faithful to give their full backing to the cause.

"Hopefully our fans, who gave us a good reception at the end, get that stadium rocking against Everton because we're going to need their help. If we can build on this performance and cut out a couple of errors we'll get ourselves a win."
