HARRY Kane bagged a hat-trick as Albion fell to a 4-0 defeat against in-form title-chasers Tottenham Hotspur in their final visit to White Hart Lane.

Kane opened the scoring before Gareth McAuley was credited with an own goal - Christian Eriksen's shot taking two deflections - as dominant Spurs scored twice in the first period to put themselves on their way to a sixth straight Premier League victory.

Kane added two further goals from close range late on but the Baggies owed much to Ben Foster, who produced a string of superb saves to keep the hosts at bay on several occasions.

Tony Pulis' side, who went into the encounter eighth in the table following back-to-back league wins, will now look to get back on track at home to Sunderland next Saturday.

Kane had already sent an early effort narrowly off target before he opened the scoring in the 12th minute, receiving the ball from the vibrant Eriksen in space in the penalty area before converting high off a post past Foster.

The Baggies stopper was helpless but he produced one of the saves of the season midway through the first half to somehow keep out Kane's low header.

Yet, again, there was nothing he could do just minutes later as Spurs doubled their lead, Eriksen's strike taking a double deflection off Jonas Olsson and McAuley before wrong-footing Foster.

Dele Alli's well-taken finish was ruled out for offside before Foster, who was superb in the 1-1 Hawthorns draw between the two sides earlier this season, produced two further stunning saves to deny Kane, tipping the second on to the outside of a post.

Matt Phillips went close to handing the Baggies a route back into the game immediately at the start of the second half but they were soon indebted to Foster again for keeping them in the game.

The Albion No.1 made three impressive stops in a matter of minutes to keep out Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Kane.  

Yet there was nothing he could do in the closing stages of the north London encounter as Kane twice pounced in the space of five minutes to double Tottenham's advantage.
