ALBION suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Leicester City Women in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division on Sunday.
New signing Leah Seivwright scored on her debut after coming on as a half-time substitute, but it wasn't enough to help produce a Baggies fight back.
Despite a bright start from Albion, it was Leicester who took the lead in the 16th minute when Olivia Mitcham was on hand to tap home a drilled right wing cross from Sophie Domingo.
Just two minutes later the Baggies fell further behind when Axten raced onto a through ball from Domingo to fire past Kinnerley into the far corner.
And the disappointment continued for Albion when Leicester were awarded a penalty right on the stroke of half-time which Axten converted for her second of the game.
Albion found a way back into the game in the 53rd minute when Lauren Price was tripped inside the box. Leah Seivwright stepped up to calmly tuck away the spot-kick.
Yet it was the visitors who had the final say with a quarter of an hour to go when Shauna Cossens looping header beat Kinnerley.
ALBION: Kinnerley, Finn, Hull (c), Burton, H.Price, Finch, Reynolds (Moore 82), Bacciochi (Seivwright 46), James (Stamps 66), L.Price, Dale.
Subs: Kikomeko, McElroy.
