ALBION progressed through to the second round of the Birmingham Senior Cup with a 3-1 win at Coventry Sphinx.
The young Baggies side took the lead through Nick Clayton-Phillips on 25 minutes as he rounded the goalkeeper on the edge of the box and put the ball in the back of the net.
However, just before the break Coventry Sphinx equalised through Rhys Deehan when his free kick from the right curled over everybody and into the far corner of the goal.
Albion then went back in front seven minutes after the interval when captain Kyle Jameson latched onto a free kick to volley in from close range.
And Clayton-Phillips got his second and the Baggies’ third and final goal of the evening when he beat the goalkeeper with a low effort after going through one-on-one.
