OLIVER Burke played just over an hour for a young Albion side that lost 3-0 to Shrewsbury Town in their second Checkatrade Trophy fixture of the campaign.
The Shrews had the early chances and almost went in front when Lenell John-Lewis found space on the left and curled a shot towards goal, but his effort came back off the post.
John-Lewis wasn't to be denied though as on 24 minutes he opened the scoring when he latched onto a rebound following an initial Alex Palmer save.
Four minutes after half time Shrewsbury went two ahead when Joe Riley whipped in a cross from the left and Carlton Morris flicked the ball into the back of the net from close range.
With 15 minutes to go Louis Dodds scored the third and final goal of the evening for the home side as he cut inside on the edge of the box and hit the ball into the far corner.
Albion's final Checkatrade Trophy game will take place against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena next month.
