ALBION will be looking to make it through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup for the first time since the 2014/15 season when they host Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
The opposition
Man City have made a storming start to the new season, winning five out of their first six games in all competitions.
Pep Guardiola's men recorded a 6-0 win on the weekend over Watford thanks in part to a hat-trick from Sergio Aguero, which means they currently sit joint top of the Premier League table along with their fierce rivals Manchester United.
They finished third in England’s top flight last time around behind Chelsea and Tottenham, resulting in a spending spree over the summer that saw players such as Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva and Ederson join the club.
Last time out
The last Premier League fixture between the sides ended in a 3-1 win for City at The Etihad in May, but it’s actually Albion that won the most recent Carabao Cup tie between the sides back in 2010.
Goals from Gianni Zuiverloon and Simon Cox that night helped the Baggies to progress from the third round of the competition.
