JONATHAN Leko made his Bristol City debut as he came on for the final 20 minutes in their 1-0 win at Reading in the SkyBet Championship.
Saturday’s win, thanks to a late Aden Flint volley, sees Lee Johnson’s side move up to ninth in the table on nine points from their first six games.
In SkyBet League One Shaun Donnellan completed the whole game and Tyler Roberts played half an hour as Walsall lost 2-1 at Bristol Rovers, and Rakeem Harper was an unused substitute in Blackburn Rovers’ 3-0 victory over Rochdale.
Elsewhere Tahvon Campbell played 90 minutes for Solihull Moors as they went down 1-0 at home to Macclesfield in the Vanarama National League.
It was a better weekend for Dara O’Shea as he played in Hereford’s 4-1 thrashing of Royston in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League, and goalkeeper Ethan Ross was also part of a winning team as Redditch United beat Chesham United 3-1 in the same division.
But there was no such luck for fellow shot-stopper Jasko Keranovic as his Alvechurch team managed a 2-2 draw at Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One.
