Meanwhile over in Group C Jonny Evans and Chris Brunt both played the full 90 minutes as Northern Ireland recorded a 3-0 victory over San Marino.
The Green and White Army are sitting second in the table, seven points clear of third-placed Czech Republic and five points behind group leaders Germany.
