DARREN Moore and Chris Brunt will go head-to-head in memory of Richard Eades at Halesowen Town on Sunday.
‘Mooro’ will manage the Albion Legends XI while ‘Brunty’ has been appointed Boing FC gaffer for the day.
Tickets remain available online priced just £8 adults, £5 children and only £1 for under-3s.
Albion’s first team coach, Darren, said: “We were devastated at Eadesy’s passing and the club has been united in its support of Carly, Lily and Archie.
“I was asked if I would lead one of the teams in Eadesy’s memory and it will be my honour to do so on Sunday.
“I invite the Albion family to get themselves to Halesowen Town on Sunday to show their respect to a man who was dedicated to this club.”
Chris Brunt added: “Mooro hasn’t changed one bit while he’s been in charge of the first team and it’s testament to him that he’s taken up the challenge to manage the Albion legends side on Sunday.
“We were all heartbroken to learn of Rich’s passing and supporting a game in his name is the very least we can do to help his family after what has been a very difficult period for them.”
Richard Eades embarked on almost 30 years’ service at the Club as a 14-year-old - working as a member of the groundstaff and then coaching staff. But he will be most fondly remembered for his role as mascot ‘Albi’, donning the famous costume since 2007.
Come along to The Grove, home of Halesowen Town, from 11am for what promises to be an entertainment-packed outing for all the family. The Legends game is scheduled to kick-off at 4.30pm.
Football, face painting and a fun fair head up the schedule, with all proceeds raised going to Richard’s two young children, Lily-Mae, 8, and Archie, 3.
The day kicks off with a nine-a-side tournament before mascots from all over the country congregate for a special ‘It’s a Knockout’ style match.
The showpiece event sees Boing FC, a club Richard was involved with for over 10 years both as player and manager, take on an Albion Legends XI at around 4.30pm.
Peter Odemwingie, Richard Sneekes, Russell Hoult, Andy Johnson, Kevin Donovan, Sean Gregan and Geoff Horsfield are all among the former Baggies set to feature.
