ALBION’s under-18s were defeated 3-2 at Sunderland in the final game of their U18 Premier League North campaign on Saturday.
It was actually the Baggies who took the lead on the 10 minute mark thanks to a Kane Evans own goal, but the away side were pegged back just two minutes later when they netted an own goal themselves through Tyrese Dyce.
Robert Dunne then put Sunderland ahead on 16 minutes before Sam Greenwood extended their advantage even further just before the hour mark.
Shortly after his goal Greenwood was dismissed, though, and Albion were handed a lifeline when Anthony Patterson netted the third own goal of the game to make it 3-2 with a little over 10 minutes to play.
However, despite the extra man Albion couldn't quite find an equaliser and it was Sunderland who came away with a narrow victory.
It means the young Baggies finish the season eighth in the table.
