Albion showed terrific fighting spirit to battle back from two goals down and secure a 4-2 victory in their opening FA Women’s National League Midlands Division One fixture at home to Birmingham & West Midlands Ladies.
Three debutants Reia Henry, Fran Orthodoxou and Rachael Howard were all on the scoresheet to help wrap up the points for Louis Sowe’s side in a six goal thriller at Boldmere St Michaels FC.
Stephanie Weston and Maimee Morris put the visitors two goals ahead before a header from Reia Henry gave the Baggies a lifeline before the break.
Substitute Harriet James jumped off the bench to pull Albion level before Fran Orthodoxou completed the comeback.
And there was still time for Rachael Howard to make her mark after joining from Wolves in the summer putting the icing on the cake with a fourth to secure an opening day victory on home turf.
