DWIGHT Gayle signed for Albion in a season-long loan swap of the No.9s, with Salomon Rondon joining Newcastle United.
The 28-year-old striker arrives with a prolific Sky Bet Championship record to his name having netted 36 goals in 61 appearances.
Gayle has worked his way up the English football pyramid since being released by Arsenal as a teenager.
His journey to the Premier League has taken in spells at Stansted and Dagenham and Redbridge, before impressive loan spells at Bishop’s Stortford and Peterborough United saw him earn a move to the Posh on a permanent deal in January 2013.
His 13 goals in 29 games at London Road was not enough to help Darren Ferguson’s men beat the drop in 2012/13.
Crystal Palace came calling in the summer of 2013 and the Walthamstow-born striker had a successful debut top-tier campaign, scoring eight goals as the Eagles claimed 11th place.
He finished each of his three seasons at Selhurst Park as the club’s top goalscorer.
In July 2016 he joined Newcastle where he netted 23 goals in 32 appearances - with the best minutes-per-goal ratio in the league - as the Magpies won the Sky Bet Championship.
Gayle scored six goals in all competitions during the 2017/18 season, laying on three assists for his team-mates as United finished tenth in the Premier League.
