ALBION Under-18s advanced into the FA Youth Cup Fourth Round with a 5-1 win over Lincoln City at The Hawthorns.
The young Baggies made a perfect start when, inside four minutes, Morgan Rogers’ marauding run resulted in an inch-perfect cross that Jamie Soule converted from close-range.
Zak Brown volleyed wide and Rogers saw an effort superbly blocked as Albion dominated much of the first-half, though Lincoln did go close before the break as Jordan Adebayo-Smith curled over from the edge of the box.
After half-time the Baggies doubled their advantage on 57 minutes, Finn Azaz firing home the rebound from George Harmon’s saved shot.
Soule then added a third with another tap-in following good work from Rayhaan Tulloch, but Lincoln did pull one back on 69 minutes through Adebayo-Smith.
Albion dismissed any chance of an Imps comeback in the final 18 minutes, though, as Rogers netted a brilliant individual goal and Azaz rounded off the scoreline from the spot after substitute Louie Barry was brought down inside the area.
Mike Scott’s side will be at home to QPR in the next round, with the tie to be played in January.
ALBION: Griffiths, Gardner-Hickman, Ferguson, Sharpe (Delaney 14), Harmon (Asomugha 86); Taylor, Brown, Azaz; Rogers, Soule, Tulloch (Barry 80).
Substitutes: Cann, King.
