DARA O’Shea has picked up the Checkatrade Trophy Player of the Round award for his performances in the competition whilst on loan at Exeter City.
The defender was handed the accolade, which covers all three group games, after a series of fantastic showings that saw him keep clean sheets against Yeovil Town, West Ham under-21s and Bristol Rovers.
“It feels great,” said Dara.
“It's nice to be recognised for your performances. I think I defended well from the fact that we kept three clean sheets, but I think as a team we defended really well.”
O'Shea has now started three successive Sky Bet League Two games for Exeter after standing out in the Checkatrade Trophy, with Loans Manager Deon Burton heaping praise on the Irishman's efforts down in Devon.
He said: "It's well deserved. I've watched him in his last three or four games and he's been very impressive.
"I know that everyone at Exeter is delighted with his contribution so far. He started the season only really playing in the cup games, but is now playing week-in, week-out in the league.
"So credit to him and hopefully he keeps up the good work."
