Sheffield United v Albion match preview

ALBION travel to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on Friday evening for what is set to be another exciting Sky Bet Championship clash (ko 7.45pm).

The opposition 

Sheffield United currently sit third in the table after picking up 37 points from their opening 21 fixtures.

They are managed by Chris Wilder, who has been in charge since May 2016. During his tenure so far the Blades won League One in his first campaign, amassing 100 points in the process, before a 10th placed finish in the Championship last season.

The Blades’ last outing was a 2-0 win over Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.

Last time out

The most recent meeting between the sides was in January 2010 as goals from Graham Dorrans, Roman Bednar and Jerome Thomas helped Albion on to a 3-1 Championship win.

Earlier that season the Baggies had played out a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Simpson has refereed Albion twice this season; the 4-2 win over Bristol City and the 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic.

Tickets for the match are now on general sale, with the Baggies having been allocated 2,253 seats at Bramall Lane.

They are priced at £29 adults, £23 seniors (60+), £18 full-time students/18-21 years and £14 U18s.

Supporters can secure their seats online, in person from the East Stand Ticket Office or by calling 0121 227 2227.

Coach travel, departing Kidderminster at 2.30pm, Stourbridge & Lye at 2.45pm and The Hawthorns at 3.30pm, is available for £17.

Tickets will not be available on the gate. Fans wishing to attend this game are advised to purchase tickets before 1pm on Friday.
