ALBION new-boy Ali Gabr says he can't wait to get started in the 'best league in the world'.
The Egypt international defender, who has been capped 18 times by his country, joins the Baggies on loan until the end of the season from Zamalek FC.
Albion have the option to make Ali's transfer permanent in the summer at a fee already agreed between the two clubs. And the 29-year-old can't wait to play in the "best league in the world".
"Of course this is a great opportunity to come to the Premier League - the best league in the world," he said. "It's something I couldn't say 'no' to.
"I'm very happy and excited to be here. I'm really looking forward to getting started with the players and the team.
"I'm here to help the team and to do my job. Whatever the team's targets are, I'm going to help them achieve it."
And, of course, Ali's addition to the Baggies squad sees him link up with fellow Egyptian - and long-time friend - Ahmed Hegazi.
The pair were part of the same youth system at Ismaily SC and now line up alongside one another for the national team, helping Egypt quality for their first World Cup since 1990 last October.
"I spoke to Ahmed a lot before I came over," Ali smiled. "We were in constant contact.
"We've known each other for a long time and have played with each other for a long time - even when we were much younger. I feel very comfortable playing alongside him because of our experience together with the national team."
