ALBION can confirm the sale of Tyler Roberts to Leeds United for an undisclosed fee.
Tyler leaves having made one first-team appearance at The Hawthorns, in addition to gaining Sky Bet League One experience during loan spells with Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town and Walsall.
Tyler’s current contract at Albion was due to expire at the end of this season and Albion’s Technical Director Nick Hammond said the Club had done all it could to persuade him to renew terms.
“We certainly didn’t want to lose one of our bright Academy prospects but Tyler and his representatives made it very clear he wanted to join Leeds,” he explained.
"We have been actively trying to agree a new contract with him for a period of time but have been unable to do so.
“He is a fantastic young man who feels that for his future he wants to make a permanent move now and start playing regularly. Leeds United made us an exceptionally good offer and importantly we have also secured excellent protection further down the line if Tyler reaches his undoubted potential.
"We wish him and his family well going forward.”
