ALBION are delighted to welcome rising young wide player Harvey Barnes to The Hawthorns for the 2018/19 campaign.
The 20-year-old winger joins the Baggies on a season-long loan from Leicester City and will feature in tonight’s pre-season friendly at Barnsley.
The Baggies are taking a strong squad to Oakwell for the run-out and Head Coach Darren Moore intends wasting no time introducing his latest recruit to his new team-mates.
Darren believes Albion fans will enjoy watching a player who has tasted both Premier League and Champions League football at Leicester but has also proved his worth with loan spells in the Sky Bet Championship with Barnsley and in League One with MK Dons.
Albion have kept close tabs on his progress and Moore is thrilled at the chance of working with the highly-rated youngster.
“He is an exciting young player - one that I think our supporters will enjoy watching,” he said today.
“We’ve got a lot of exciting youngsters at this club and Harvey now adds to that group.
“He’s got good experience of the Championship already and I am thrilled at the prospect of him adding his talents to our group. I couldn’t be happier that we have been able to bring him in.”
Harvey’s record on loan gives an insight to his qualities as he racked up goals and assists with both Barnsley and MK Dons.
He said: “I’m a positive player. I love scoring and making goals. I try to be as creative as I can be out on the pitch.”
