ALBION have continued a rebuild of the Club’s goalkeeping department with the signing of Jonathan Bond.
The 25-year-old, who was a free agent after finishing a three-year deal with Reading, today signed a two-year contract with the Baggies.
Jonathan, who trained in Scotland last week during the four-day trip to St Andrew’s University, follows Sam Johnstone into the Club’s new-look goalkeeping crew.
His potential has been recognised at international level where Jonathan represented Wales up to the Under 19 group before switching on selection for England. He now has seven caps for the Three Lions spread over under-20 and under-21 level.
He has experience of League football with Reading, Watford, Bury, Gillingham and Peterborough United and is now relishing the chance to establish himself within a department being revamped by goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler.
“This is a Premier League club and that’s what we’ve got to concentrate on - getting ourselves back up there,” said Jonathan.
“The facilities are great, the people are great. The Championship is a tough league but I believe it’s an exciting season ahead.”
