ALBION began their pre-season schedule with a 3-0 victory over Barnet in sweltering heat at The Hive London.
Kyle Edwards and Hal Robson-Kanu (2) were on target as the Baggies stepped up their search for fitness ahead of August's Championship curtain-raiser against Bolton Wanderers.
A number of first-team stars featured as temperates hit 30°C in North London, with Chris Brunt named captain.
Free agents Kieran Richardson and Martin Cranie, who trained with the Club this week, were named in Darren Moore's starting XI as they improved their conditioning.
In a quiet opening, Alex Palmer was the busier of the two goalkeepers, gathering Shaq Coulthirst's 20-yard strike midway through the first period.
And the Barnet number 14 again went close in the 35th minute, lashing a half-volley against the post from five yards.
In a game which saw the Baggies dominate possession, the away side failed to fashion any clear-cut chances in the first 45 minutes, Matt Phillips' dipping strike proving the most threatening of the action.
There were wholesale changes at half-time. The two goalscorers, Rekeem Harper, Alex Bradley and Max Melbourne all entered the fray.
Kyle soon hit a sumptuous opener, curling the ball into the top corner and out of the reach of Barnet's trailist goalkeeper with 67 minutes on the clock.
Hal, felled inside the penalty area, added a second from the spot less than ten minutes later to extend the lead.
And the Wales international secured a comfortable victory in the 77th minute, converting Rayhaan Tulloch's pull-back.
