SAM Field will miss Saturday's fixture against Burnley after suffering a minor calf strain on international duty.
In his weekly media address, Head Coach Alan Pardew confirmed that the youngster will miss Albion's clash with the Clarets after picking up an injury while away with England U20.
The game will also come to soon for Gareth Barry, who continues his recovery from a knee injury.
"We've got a couple of little knocks that we've suffered in the time since we've played Bournemouth," said Alan. "Sam, unfortunately, picked up a knock - a calf strain - with England so he won't be involved.
"Gareth Barry isnt quite right. He's still having problems with his knee."
There was positive news, however, on Nacer Chadli (thigh) and Daniel Sturridge (hamstring), both of whom are getting closer after long spells on the sidelines, although this weekend will come to soon.
"Nacer and Daniel will also be held back because they're on the road to recovery," Alan continued.
"They've not played a lot of football so we need a little bit more work into them. Nacer is probably a little bit further down the road than Daniel."
