ALBION today confirm the appointment of Li Piyue as the Club’s new Chairman.
Li is a close business associate of Albion’s controlling shareholder Guochuan Lai having held boardroom positions at Palm while also serving as executive director and general manager of the Sunny Life Eco-town Development Co. Ltd.
In other changes to the Club’s senior administration, Chief Executive Mark Jenkins has stepped down from his temporary role as a director of Albion’s parent company, West Bromwich Albion Holdings Ltd.
Li has also been appointed a director of West Bromwich Albion Group Ltd along with another of Mr Lai’s business associates, Xu Ke.
They join Mark as directors of Group. Xu Ke is already a well-known figure at the Club where he has been working as a liaison executive since the ownership change in August 2016.
Mark said the changes were a continuation of plans for a closer working relationship between The Hawthorns and Albion’s China-based controlling shareholder.
