ALBION’s under-23s advanced through to the quarter-finals of the Birmingham Senior Cup with a thrilling 4-3 win at Bedworth United.
The young Baggies started the game brightly and found themselves two goals up inside the opening eight minutes thanks to George Harmon and Callum Morton.
But two penalties from Bedworth’s Alex Troke had the home side level at the break, before they then went ahead on 59 minutes through Iyseden Christie.
Jamie Smith’s team dug deep, though, and after substitute Jamie Soule equalised with 17 minutes left to play, Nick Clayton-Phillips’ stoppage time strike earned Albion the win and a place in the last eight.
ALBION: Keranovic, Ferguson, Taylor, Healy; Meredith, Azaz, Ashton (Soule 45), Harmon; Clayton-Phillips, Morton, Rogers.
Substitutes: Cann, Delaney, King, Gardner-Hickman.
