Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle stressed the significance of confidence after both bagged for the Baggies in a 4-1 win against Preston North End.
Gayle grabbed a hat-trick and Rodriguez rifled home a first-half strike to continue their race for top scorer, with both currently on 21 league goals this season.
And Jay paid tribute to his strike partner after a dominant display from Dwight.
“He deserves it, he works hard,” said Jay.
“He’s a great finisher, a great striker to play with. He deserves it massively, he works hard and deserves everything he gets.
“Preston are a great side with good players and the way they play is really good. It’s a big game for us to try and build that momentum and get things right.
“To get the three points and play like that and score four goals (was great). Maybe a little bit disappointed to concede at the end but I think that’s credit to Preston, they are a good team.
“It’s a good confidence boost and we will continue the work now ready for Friday.”
Gayle has netted four times in five days and says the performance against Preston will boost the Baggies.
“It’s nice to get back to winning ways,” said Dwight.
“We have had a frustrating last two games and it’s just important for us now to get a bit of confidence to finish the season.
“It was a great ball from Brunty, he literally put it on a plate for me. I just thought about connecting with it. I had a couple of chances similar to it on Tuesday to try and hit the target, but luckily today it just went in.
“It was a well-worked goal, a great ball from Brunty and luckily that gave us a boost. Obviously we haven’t started too well recently so getting the first goal was really important for us.”
