Dwight Gayle says the support he receives from Albion fans provides him with all the motivation he needs in front of goal.
The forward bagged a brace during Friday’s 3-2 win over Hull City to take his Sky Bet Championship tally to 23 goals for the season.
And Gayle admits the backing from the Hawthorns faithful gives him an added edge out on the pitch.
“It was nice to get another couple of goals,” the striker said.
“Our home run has been decent recently and it was important to get another three points today.
“Before I scored against Birmingham City, I had been on my longest run without scoring and it had started to get to me a bit.
“But obviously after scoring a few goals over the last few weeks, my confidence has grown and hopefully I can add more before the end of the season.
“It’s nice to come and play my football here at The Hawthorns.
“The fans are really welcoming and they seem to have taken to me this season.
“Their support has given me that extra oomph to go and get the goals.”
